Blood on the Capitol Trilogy
BILL HALAMANDARIS
Blood Runs Deep
When U.S. Senate investigator Theo “Bear” Alexander is summoned to Naples, Florida to determine the mysterious fate of his uncle, he arrives to find himself at the center of his uncle’s deadly, unfinished business.
Against the sparkling backdrop of Naples, Florida, Theo’s investigative skills pick up the trail of a sinister network of power players who will stop at nothing to protect their empire of Medicare fraud. Theo’s relentless pursuit of the truth unearths a sprawling conspiracy involving fraudulent Medicare schemes, corrupt politicians, and the shadowy SafeCo security firm hired to keep its secrets buried.
As Theo realizes he’s being tailed and targeted for elimination by SafeCo, he alerts his boss and friend, Senator Colgate, who heads the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI). Although Colgate can offer financial support for his investigation and a means of escape from his pursuers, Theo is left to depend on his own skills to survive a final deadly showdown.
Author Bill Halamandaris, a former Chief Investigator of Senate oversight committees, draws on his years of Senate investigative work—much of which was widely covered by the media—to offer a searing indictment of corporate and political corruption while delivering a page-turning adventure that fans of crime and political thrillers won’t be able to put down.
Blood Runs Deep is the first installment in the action/adventure trilogy Blood on the Capitol.

“There will be those who read this novel with doubt and suspicion. They will swear these events could not be possible. Others will swear they were there and remember these events with specificity and great detail. Where you sit determines what you see. There is truth enough to support either persuasion.”
Bill Halamandaris, author and former Chief Investigator for the U.S. Senate
The success of the investigation garnered major media coverage including the New York Times, The Washington Post, 60 Minutes, and 20/20.
The undercover investigative methods used, including posing as representatives of New York and California healthcare facilities, are reflected in the depiction of events in Blood Runs Deep. The reader is welcome to speculate on how closely the facts parallel the book’s fictionalized events.
